This book had already gotten a lot of hype before I read it, so my expectations were high. Fortunately it lived up to my high hopes and I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the trilogy. Katniss Everdeen is a teenager living in the desolate future . When her sister is picked to participate in the annual Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers to save her life by taking her place in the Games. Well, I read this series out of order but The Hunger Games is just as good as Mockingjay. And there has been enough time between the reading of the two books that, although I remembered that Katniss was the Mockingjay, I still enjoyed learning the back story. Suzanne Collins is a very skillful writer, who is able to keep the reader wanting to know more. I will keep reading this series. Very nicely written. ...more

Oh my gosh, this book really is amazing. I've been wanting to read it for a while but I was afraid it wouldn't meet my expectations. Boy, was I wrong! I think I like Katniss even more than I liked Tally from Uglies. I'm excited tio read the other two books. :) ...more
