So in theory, I loved this book. What an incredibly creative plot line. Even though I started to suspect some things early on, it didn't detract at all from the story. If it had not been for a few things that nagged at me, I would have been ALL-IN on this book. So what bothered me was this: I liked all of the characters except, (and this is a big except) Kacey herself, and believe it or not, Trent.

This is a book that is not only about falling in love; but about forgiveness and healing too. I loved this story right from the first page, all of the way through to the last. The first thing that drew me immediately to this story were the characters involved. I loved how every single person in this book had some connection to the over all story, and everyone of them had a personality that was impossible not to gravitate towards. This is a book that is not only about falling in love; but about forgiveness and healing too. I loved this story right from the first page, all of the way through to the last. The first thing that drew me immediately to this story were the characters involved. I loved how every single person in this book had some connection to the over all story, and everyone of them had a personality that was impossible not to gravitate towards. This book deals with a topic that is very close to my heart, and that is Drunk Driving. Kacey was in an accident a few years back where her whole life changed in the blink of an eye. She was in the vehicle when her parents,her boyfriend, and her best friend were killed. If that isn't hard enough she was aware and trapped while knowing that everyone she loved had just died. I couldn't imagine living through an experience as traumatic as that, and needless to say that even though Kacey survived that night; she will never be the same again. So, she goes through life as if she were drowning, and the only thing keeping her barely above water is her sister Livie, and her need to protect her sister at all costs.
Situations leave the girls to run to another place, away from their guardians and on their own; and this is where the true healing of Kacey Cleary begins.

Trent comes into the picture and basically sweeps Kacey off her feet. This takes time of course, because she has one major chip on her shoulder! She certainly doesn't make it easy for anyone to get close to her. Slowly but surely, Trent works his way into her life, and eventually into her heart. It was beautiful watching Kacey go from being an empty shell, to someone who was finally able to start living again! Everything is not all that it seems though, and not only does Kacey still hold some secrets inside; but Trent too has a whopper of a secret that he's not sharing. What will happen when his secret is found out? Will Kacey ever get to find a happily ever after? Finally, will Kacey be able to move on from all the trauma she has experienced in her life, and really start to live again? This book is her journey of trying to know longer remain under water; but to rise above it and start breathing again..You know...those Ten tiny breaths!

This story made me laugh, cry,and at times feel frustrated. I loved every minute of it and would highly recommend this book to anyone who hasn't read it yet. It is YA; but it still packs a punch in the romance end of things. There is some sex, but it is pretty mild compared to what I usually read, although I have to say in this story that didn't bother me at all. The entertainment from all of the players involved in this story made up for that. There is steam though, Trent and Kacey are beautiful together and I love the bond that they begin to form. This books packs an important message, and will get the reader thinking about the choices that we make and how one bad choice may not just affect you but also others around you. I am really impressed with K.A. Tucker's writing, and I look forward to the next book in this highly emotional series.
This is a must read!

I downloaded it because of all the good things I heard about it with the intentions of putting it on my to-read list. It was just so engaging though that I found myself halfway done with it the first day and then finishing it up the next day. Great story, I am definitely looking forward to the sequel.

I've had Ten Tiny Breaths since January when it was in the hype but didn't pick it up then because I had just finished Hopeless and my emotions were all over the place. Now was the perfect time for me to read and appreciate this wonderful story created by KA Tucker to the fullest. I literally have no words to describe how much the story touched me, I knew what was going to happen and I wasn't going to give it a high rating because of the predic Ten Tiny Breaths. Seize them. Feel them. Love them.

I've had Ten Tiny Breaths since January when it was in the hype but didn't pick it up then because I had just finished Hopeless and my emotions were all over the place. Now was the perfect time for me to read and appreciate this wonderful story created by KA Tucker to the fullest. I literally have no words to describe how much the story touched me, I knew what was going to happen and I wasn't going to give it a high rating because of the predictability but the last 20% of the book was so intense and it brought out such strong emotions from me that I couldn't help myself giving it a perfect well deserved rating and some more.

Kacey has a dark past and she doesn't share it with anyone. She has a 15 year old sister to take care of after her parents death and is working hard to make Livvie happy and live her dreams. I went in blind, didn't read the synopsis and it was so worth it. I enjoyed the story more because I never had any preconceived notions. Kacey is one of my favorite character, her past had made her tough and strong, and for me she sounded like someone from the hood. I have never read about anyone like her and I loved that, I loved that she was bold, trained in fighter gyms and can fight off any hulky man. How awesome is that! And then there is Livvie who is complete opposite of her sister; everyone called her an angel and it was a perfect title for her. I loved both of these sisters.

Kacey's new neighbor, Trent reminded me of Andrew Parrish from The Edge of Never. He's one of those guys that make you swoon and you don't even realize it until he says the perfect thing and suddenly you're head over heels in love with him. Yup, those one! Kacey and Trent didn't have a normal relationship because Kacey always wanted to move forward with their relationship and Trent always wanted to slow things down and help Kacey move on from her past. There was frustration, tension and arguments but then there were sweet texts, cheerful happy dates and hot steamy make out sessions that made everything better. But the ending was just terrible, I cried with them and wanted them to work it out, but it was rough and I'm so ecstatic that they have a HEA. That's all I ever wish for.

If you haven't catch on yet, then I'll say it. Ten Tiny Breaths by KA Tucker is a Must Read. It has the perfect amount of sad and happy moments. It is a book about moving on, living your life to the fullest and to remember the good memories and letting go of the ones that hurt you. To forgive, let go and just feel. I loved every thing about it and highly recommend it to every single person who loves to read. KA Tucker is someone to watch out for and I can't wait to devour Livvie's story. ...more

GOD i loved this ! i felt so invested in this entire story and the characters . im so glad they found their HEA because it seemed so distant in the end . i really learnt something from this and i will treasure it always .

very good book . I found a few grammatical errors but I was able to overlook them . Well planned story. Even though I figured out the twist very way on I was still shocked when the author revealed it.

I had 3 stars in mind through the whole book but the end made me want to push it to another half...or even a whole one.

It was entertaining, light-read and I rolled my eyes few times (well, every times she's near Trent really)

BUT

The characters are so likable that the whole book touches your heart and makes you have a soft spot for it.

If you focus on the plot itself or the way the story will pan out, you may be disappointed, because this story is more about simple human emotions, than actions

Kacey, Trent, Livie, Storm, Mia and the rest of the group made me laugh, ache and cry. What a wonderful, unconventional and modern family they make.

I really enjoyed this story, I loved the writing the characters and the message. I suspected the twist in the end but I was still shocked! Well done Ms. Tucker!!! : D
