"What about our life has ever been easy?"
Truer words were never spoken. Can these two, please, have less heartache and more happy times in Lazarevo?
My emotions ran the gamut from crying to wanting to punch someone in the throat. My heart ached for both of them as they struggled to go on with life. When times were hard I relied on Alexander's words, 'I have to have faith.'

I couldn't possibly choose a passage from this book that best encapsulates the theme of Tatiana and Alexander's continuing battle against the odds of World War II. So I'm nicking something from Neruda which I find fitting because Shura, for the most part of this book, sounds like a hybrid between a South American poet and... well, Chuck Norris. Exceptionally, historically, realistic.
Anyone who loves detail and history will fall in love all over again to Simons exceptional writing!! Tantiana and Alexander does not disappoint. It was so enjoyable that one will want to read it over and over again through their lifetime.
Tania and Shura's tale continues where it left off from the previous book. I loved Shura's back story and hearing about his life before Soviet Russia and what led him to become Alexander Belov...

Okay, for actual plot you can read my review of Tatiana and Alexander. The Bridge to Holy Cross (TBTHC for short) is pretty much the same. It's an editing change in different countries.
HOWEVER. I highly recommend all TBH series fans, find a way to get your hands on a copy of this book. There are several scenes that are lengthened from Alexander's POV and they are amazing. In fact amazing might not cover it.

Superb writing, but I wasn't too thrilled that the entire book (mostly) was filled with glimpses into the past. This story is always at its best when Alexander and Tatiana are together. I look forward to the next and final novel. Still a high, high recommendation.
