"Not my screw-up. My real."

This book was more than just a great read..it was AN EXPERIENCE! I have been sitting here wondering what the magic formula is for an "epic" book, and the biggest answer that I came up with is: Real has that magic. What made me fall in love with the character of Remington "Riptide" Tate was from his animal magnetism, his possesiveness, loyalty, agression, vulnerability, and most of all: he was "Real!" The intensity of this man is off the charts!! What woman would not w "Not my screw-up. My real."

What made me fall in love with the character of Remington "Riptide" Tate was from his animal magnetism, his possesiveness, loyalty, agression, vulnerability, and most of all: he was "Real!" The intensity of this man is off the charts!! What woman would not want a man to look at her as if the sun shines and sets on her, and with every part of his being needs her to be by his side. With every ounce of Remy's soul he has found a home with-in Brooke, and will protect her with every breath in his body. He says it best when he tells her:

"Protecting you is my privilege. I will protect you and anything that YOU value as if it were mine."

Katy Evans has introduced me to a character that I will never forget, and a man that is not only hard to beat in the ring; but as far as "Book Beaus" go...he is unbeatable as well. The sexual tension in this book was un-freaking-believable..there are no words as to how worked up I was!! By the time Brooke and Remy "did the deed," the butterflies in my stomach were fluttering like crazy, and I swear if a car drove into my house I wouldn't have even noticed. I have never read such and intense sex scene before..EVER!! Katy Evans has such a powerful way with words and I wish I could do her justice by how great I think she is. I was so absorbed into this book, that when it came to the end I wanted to start back at the beginning and read it again! Truthfully, I will miss Remy and Brooke..they are trapped into my heart for good and their story is one that I will treasure for many years to come. This book has touched me in ways that I never thought a book would. My hat goes of to Katy Evans, and I applaud you for writing such a wonderful story. Truly my words don't even do justice to how great it is..but one thing is for sure: Remy and Brooke will live on in my heart for all time!!

This was a difficult book for me to review. I think my opinion on this one is definitely in the minority, but you can't help how you react to a book. It either excites your soul or it turns you away. And I'm sorry to say that this one did not excite my soul.

Honestly, the plot itself had merit. And I think could have been much more interesting told from a different angle. For example, if it had been told in Remy's POV instead of Brooke's, I think I would have had a totally diffe [image error]

For example, if it had been told in Remy's POV instead of Brooke's, I think I would have had a totally different response. But I have to admit that being in Brooke's head... was TORTURE for me. This has to be the horniest woman on the planet. I mean really!!!! We get it!!!!! The guy gets you hot... but the constant overly exaggerated descriptive rantings about how her body was reacting to him... even down to the cellular level... I just wanted to shoot myself after a while. I mean how many of you actually describe your own skin as "creamy white." And if I had to read the words "liquid heat" and "clenching womb" one more time I was going to go bat shit crazy!!!!

That said, I have to mention Remington Tate. Now he was a very intriguing character for me. Even though he was quite lacking on the dialogue, you could really see that he had a lot more going on in his head that he wanted to share. I loved his tortured past, and his bipolar flaws.. very interesting character indeed. I would have LOVED to hear this story from his point of view. I know he was almost animalistic in his alpha behavior, but honestly, I think a lot of that was just how our dramatic "Brooke" viewed him. Yes he was possessive, yes he was aggressive and dominant. He also liked to "scent" and "lick" a lot...but then again... that was Brooke's description. I also liked the way he searched his music for ways to express his feelings. There was definitely a complicated soul underneath all of that muscle. I would have definitely like to explore that angle a bit more.

I can't say I completely disliked the book... because I really did like the storyline. But I'm begging the author... if you write a sequel..please do it from Remy's POV!!!! The epilogue was blissfully pleasant to read in comparison to Brooke's horny rantings!!!!

I'm sadly only giving this one 2.5 stars :(

Reading this book was 100% ENJOYMENT!!!

I can't put more than that. Like I said, yes it was hot, but it doesn't mean it's necessarily good.
The parts that were good were the first 5% and the last 20%. But everything else was about her being horny.

I rolled my eyes way too much and skimmed through the second part of the book, eager to get to the end of it.

The story was about 2 things: their meeting and then the sister. but there weren't anything else in between! well apart from sex scenes which I bored of after 5 ...more

Truth is, if it weren't for great Goodreads friends, I'd have never heard of this. But thankfully Candice reviewed it and raved, and she was kind enough to loan it to me (thanks again!)

The story picks up almost immediately as Brooke and Remington meet, and it stays fast paced throughout. I dont think I have any Real complaints-- well, except that it is a TAD predictable, but in a way that you don't mind. And, that you end up a little frustrated much the way Brooke does. :) Still, I'm looking for ...more

Wish I could give it 10 stars! I am absolutely in love with this book and with Remy! I love how Katy tackles a difficult subject but keeps it very REAL! I am definitely looking forward to the next book and more of Remy and Brooke.
