Originally I had hoped this book would continue with Joss and Braden's story but it features different characters. I enjoyed it but it wasn't quite as good as the first. The story was sweet and at times emotional but it just didn't get to me the way some books do. This may be partly because the last book I read was amazing so it was a tough act to follow. I would recommend it if you liked the first book. Plus, you get a little more Joss and Braden which is always good :) ...more

I enjoyed this read. It had some family drama and definitely sexual tension.

Jo: "Well, I guess that makes us a pair. I'm a brainless, morally corrupt, money-grabbing bimbo and you're a jumped-up, pretentious, artsy-fartsy know-it-all dickhead." .... Now that's an introduction lol you can sense the tension right from the get go.

Jo has had it tough. She's had a huge burden placed on her shoulders from a young age she has had to be both mother and father to her younger brother Cole because she h I enjoyed this read. It had some family drama and definitely sexual tension.

Jo has had it tough. She's had a huge burden placed on her shoulders from a young age she has had to be both mother and father to her younger brother Cole because she had a good for nothing father and an alcoholic bedridden mother. In order to help support her family, Jo uses her "assets" to try and find a wealthy husband. Although anyone looking in would see her as a gold-digger we are able to get inside her head and understand that although money is an issue for her she is still trying to have a connection with these guys. The problem is she becomes a superficial version of herself to please these men until she meets Cam....

Jo: "Has anyone ever told you, you are the most despicable, judgemental, self-righteous, obnoxious fuckwit that ever existed?" and the tension continues....

Cam is a straightforward no bullshit kind of guy, not Jo's usual type. At first he is extremely rude to Jo but he also sparks some feelings in Jo that were otherwise buried. But after some interesting coincidences where Cam gets to know Jo better and realizes who she truly is and what really drives her to work so hard he can't help but fall in love with her & that initial rudeness quickly ignites a sexual spark between them.

Cam: "I'm going to f*ck you so hard, sink so deep inside you, you'll never work me out from under your skin. Never. " *blushing*

Together Cam and Jo get through some challenging times. Both their pasts lead to some difficulties in their relationship but in the end you can't help but root for them because together they are a family.

Cam: " It's all-consuming," he breathed, leaning his forehead against mine again. "It's almost debilitating. It's too much. It's... I can't even describe it, but being with you is...There's this intensity inside me all the time, this...constant pull, desperation...it's like you're branded on me or something. And it bloody well burns."

It was a great story and a good complement to the series. We hear a bit about some of the characters we've come to love in On Dublin Street but this is Jo and Cam's story. ...more

Let me preface this by saying I love me some Samantha Young. On Dublin Street was fantastic. I really really loved it. I think that's where the problem starts. My expectations were really high going in. This book wasn't bad, it was just 'meh.' Not much happened the whole time. A sign of a book not being awesome is if it takes me longer than a couple days to read it. This book took me FOREVER to read.
