This is the second book in the On Dublin Street series and is about bartender, Johanna (Jo) and graphic designer Cameron (Cam). They meet when Cam is hired at the bar where Jo works and the attraction is instant. There is just one problem.....they are both dating other people. UGH! The heart wants what the hearts wants....will they finall ...more

I feel so bad giving this book such a terrible rating but Down London Road really missed the mark for me. Let me just start off by saying that I adored On Dublin Street. Braden and Joss' story was amazing! It had heat, passion, and great character development. I was expecting the same fire and spark and was thoroughly disappointed.

What I got was a main heroine that I really disliked. I felt no connection with Jo. I truly felt bad for her situation but her personality certainly wasn't likable. N ...more
Where to start? Oh, I know...

I enjoyed this read. It had some family drama and definitely sexual tension.
Jo: "Well, I guess that makes us a pair. I'm a brainless, morally corrupt, money-grabbing bimbo and you're a jumped-up, pretentious, artsy-fartsy know-it-all dickhead." .... Now that's an introduction lol you can sense the tension right from the get go.

I know this book has had mixed reviews which is probably the reason behind my apprehension to read Down London Road sooner. I loved on Dublin Street and couldn't imagine how Samantha Young could emulate her success after her debut romance novel.
However, I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't put this book down. I loved the fact that Cam was a very different character to Braden Carmichael. He couldn't shower Jo with gifts but could provide her with love and affection. We also get an understandin ...more

Let me preface this by saying I love me some Samantha Young. On Dublin Street was fantastic. I really really loved it. I think that's where the problem starts. My expectations were really high going in. This book wasn't bad, it was just 'meh.' Not much happened the whole time. A sign of a book not being awesome is if it takes me longer than a couple days to read it. This book took me FOREVER to read.
I think the other thing that was frustrating was the price of this book. I often pay $2 or $3 fo ...more

3.5/5
I didn't like it as much as On Dublin Street but I thought it was still a good read. It just didn't move me as much. I did get a better understanding of Johanna, it helped explain her actions in the first book. Lil' Wayne's song "How to Love" felt like the theme song for this book.
I didn't care much for Jo & Cam as I did with the other characters such as Hannah & Cole. I was glad to see more of Joss, Braden, Ellie & Adam. (view spoiler) ...more
