LOVED!! Were there too many other storylines going on along with Blay and Qhuinn's?..yes, but isn't that the way pretty much every single BDB book has rolled since Phury's book? I don't think that anyone going into this book should expect any different from J.R. Ward. Thankfully her side stories are GOOD!! I can't wait to get the rest of Assail and Sola's story, Trez and Selena's story...and especially Xcor and Layla's story!! How sweet were they when they met in the car?! :( Will ...more

It feels like I have been waiting for this book forever. I had built up really high hopes and was worried that I might be disappointed.
I had nothing to worry about; Ward did a really fantastic job.

I gave this book four stars just because of the few issues I had. There's nothing major, I just feel like these small things prevented me from giving the full five.
One thing I had real trouble with in this book was the POV changes. I just felt that the scenes were placed in really annoying interval ...more

I was somewhat disappointed with this one...I was really expecting to be blown away with Qhuay...I've been cheering for them since the beginning...so...I deserve more DAMMIT!!..We ALL deserve it...wth??

....there seemed to be so much focus on the many unexpected twists & turns..(more than usual)..& sub-plots...that Qhuinn & Blay seemed to be thrown to the back-burner...who's book was this???...Assail's??..Trez's??..idk??...

I had such high hopes for this one but alas I was sorely disappointed. There was way to much going on with other characters in the book and not enough Blay and Quinn. Still love this series though.

J.R. Ward can do no wrong in my eyes! Everything she writes is perfect. Qhinn and Blay's story is perfect. This book is perfect. The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series is perfect. Ok I'll stop now. The only thing I will say, and many other reviewers mentioned this, I really wished Qhinn and Blay had more happy moments together rather than just the last chapter and epilogue. I would've liked it if maybe they declared their feelings earlier on in the story rather than just arguing and not communicati ...more

This probably should be a 3 star rating but I tend to over rate Ward's books b/c she writes the romance piece so well. I love everything about Qhuinn & Blay and their rocky, angsty relationship and I'm glad Ward didn't hold back on any m/m details. I also love the original core of brothers that I've read up to at this point. However, I don't care much for any of these new side characters and their storylines. I still love this series and will continue reading but I hope that Ward will win me ove ...more

I start out by saying that I do think my review on Lover At Last, as well as my opinions within may be a bit controversial... It's kind of unfortunate but while reading this installment I realized that I no longer enjoy this series based on the "romance" of it. For the past 4 books now I've continued with the series based on following the crumbs of info that we receive on the lives of the already mated brothers that I've loved for so long, as well as the "Urban Fantasy" parts of the series. I am I start out by saying that I do think my review on Lover At Last, as well as my opinions within may be a bit controversial... It's kind of unfortunate but while reading this installment I realized that I no longer enjoy this series based on the "romance" of it. For the past 4 books now I've continued with the series based on following the crumbs of info that we receive on the lives of the already mated brothers that I've loved for so long, as well as the "Urban Fantasy" parts of the series. I am one of the (very) few BDB fans who was NOT excited about the Quay couple.

My lack of enthusiasm about Blay and Quinn coming together was not because I am a prude or am put off by the m/m concept. Though not my first choice I've read (some) m/m and enjoyed it. My problem was I just couldn't buy the concept of these two becoming a romantic couple. Blay and Quinn have been friends since childhood, they grew up together as pre-trans' and were at one time as close as brothers. I tried to put my head around these two strong willed warrior males coming together but with the way it was laid out, I just couldn't buy it. Maybe it could have been believable if in the end Blay wasn't turned into the "girl" in the relationship. I felt he was a bit emasculated and I was disappointed for the sudden character change.

My 4 star rating was set on pretty much every other part of the book. Layla and Xcor... Ugg, I can't wait for their book! I have high hopes that we'll actually get back to the romance! For those who have hated on Layla I say booooo. I never really liked her UNTIL this book. She just seemed like a none-character, or filler before. She finally has a voice and a personality. She just wants to be part of something or someone, to matter... Kudos to her!

Sola and Assail are also a new fun twist. I'm looking forward to more from them. Wrath and Beth and possible baby drama... Not to mention the Shades and the intertwining of the BDB/Fallen Angel series. This was a great turning point book. I'm looking forward to what's coming next for the Brotherhood.

As just a tid bit... I read several reviews that referred to lube or the lack of lube used between Quinn and Blay. Though she didn't come right out and specifically state it, the lubrication topic and what the guys used as lube was addressed, a few times. Those who didn't catch the insinuation made as to what they used need to go back and re-read the first love scene between them (hint, hint).

I freaking love ALL the brothers. This is one of my all time favorite series. J.R. Ward is my literary hero! Let me also say that I am IN love w/ M/M, so I was really looking forward to Q & B's book...

Cue the Lessers. From the first book that the Lessers were introduced I was irritated that every other chapter was about the BDB and every other the Lessers- though I could deal. Who is she getting her intel into street mentality and terminology from? County lock-up? THE SLANG IN THIS BOOK WAS LIKE TRYING TO SKATE ON GRAVEL. YOU CONSTANTLY GET TRIPPED UP! It is just TOO FU*KING MUCH! SERIOUSLY. I felt Like I was taking a HOOD 101 class.

Sigh. How Refreshing to finally be reading a new Blackdagger book!!! After reading Tohr's book last time, I've been anxiously awaiting Lover at Last. The previous book gave us a good idea about Qhuinn and Blay's relationship. I was dying to find out what was going to happen between these too!
Starting out I just wanted it to get straight into the good stuff with Qhuinn and Blay and how they were going to deal with things, their attraction and all the obstycles that were overtaking them. But JR W Sigh. How Refreshing to finally be reading a new Blackdagger book!!! After reading Tohr's book last time, I've been anxiously awaiting Lover at Last. The previous book gave us a good idea about Qhuinn and Blay's relationship. I was dying to find out what was going to happen between these too!
Starting out I just wanted it to get straight into the good stuff with Qhuinn and Blay and how they were going to deal with things, their attraction and all the obstycles that were overtaking them. But JR Ward like to drag out a good story with other good stories inbetween! Not only did we get Qhuinn and Blay's story, but we were getting good doses of Xcor, Assail, and Trez as well. It was a lot of flipping back and forth and around to these amazing characters, and once I got in 6 chapters or so, I started to really want to know about all of them rather than JUST Qhuinn and Blay. Another favorite Character of mine is Layla. She is a BIG part of Qhuinn's story, but she has a story of her own that is just dying to get out, and I know that's going to be in the future! I cannot wait to see what good things happen for her! She has been with the books for a good while now.
There were so many parts of this book that I just loved. There were parts that had me giggling and laughing, and there were some really REAL parts that just made me tear up. Qhuinn had such a difficult life growing up with a family who shunned him. Only to be overly excepted by the Brotherhood, it litterly had me choking up the things they did to make him one of them.

Obviously this book is different than the rest of the books, and of any book I've ever read because of the "Gay" factor. All I knew is that I wanted these two warriors to be together. They were meant to be. JR Ward did an amazing job with their story. While I was more engrossed in the build up of their explosive desire, the love scenes were done so well too. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the Warden did it her style as usual!!!

I really like the direction everything is going in with these books. I know that the King's story is next and I know that like this one it will include so many other little side stories as well! I'm anxious to see what happens with Layla & Xcor! Also to see what happens with Assail and Trez as well. Another awesome book :) ...more
