Rating Clarification 4.5 stars.... Ms. Hoover has done it once again. She has written a book that is so magical. This is a story of love, heartbreak and full of raw emotion. It deals with some very serious topics. It is for sure a must read.

WOW!!! Well that was so utterly AMAZING... By 93%, the final piece of the puzzle slipped right into place in my head and I then knew just what the story was about to reveal... Once again, pure awesome writing Colleen Hoover. I love books like this!!!

I kept seeing this book around and then suddenly decided to go buy and read it. It is an amazing story, emotional and even heartbreaking at times. I also had some small issues with it.

The story starts of pretty normal and okay, the whole home situation of Sky was a bit strange and soon we are introduced to Holder and he really is a mystery at first. I liked the tension between them at first and how hot some scenes were while they weren't even doing anything. The later half of the book their rela I kept seeing this book around and then suddenly decided to go buy and read it. It is an amazing story, emotional and even heartbreaking at times. I also had some small issues with it.

I liked the tension between them at first and how hot some scenes were while they weren't even doing anything. The later half of the book their relationship did change. I do think I prefer the first half, because the second half was a bit too much drama, emotions and darkness for me. Also this book deals with two problem about which I rather not read and I think that unconsciously affected my rating. I really loved this book, the story and the characters, but I just have a hard time reading about some things. I did enjoy the authors writing style and even though there were some emotional points, I just wanted to keep reading.

One thing that really annoyed me was the beginning and the chapter names. The book begins with an emotional scene which you don't understand only to flip back to two months earlier and we get the rest of the story. This beginning juts didn't work for me, the beginning chapter didn't make sense and only served to illustrate something bad was going to happen. The chapter names are another thing that annoyed me. The chapter names contain the date and time of the day, but this only confused me as I already had forgotten which day the last chapter was. So instead of this being helpful I just found it confusing and ended up just ignoring the chapter names.

The characters are really awesome, especially Sky and Holder. There is also some attention for some side characters, but a little too less in my opinion. The author did try to give some attention to two of Sky's best friends, but in the end the focus was more on Sky and Holder. And in the end we never hear what happened with her friends. I did like the characters and how well there was attention for Sky and Holders emotions and feelings. Sometimes the characters did seem wiser and older then they were and less like teenagers sometimes, especially in the second half of the story.

To conclude: I really enjoyed this book, it is an enjoyable story and I liked seeing Sky and Holders relationship develop, they were perfect together. I did had some issues with the problems that were discussed, the chapter names and the beginning scene. I liked the authors writing style and am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Sky doesn't want a bad boy who drops out of HS and decides to tattoo the word "HOPELESS" on his arm, no matter how cute and sexy she thinks he is. She knows that she deserves better than someone so far gone that they would consider themselves "HOPELESS".....and that is exactly what she initially sees in Holder. But looks can be deceiving. At first glance, this book seems like it is going to follow the traditional romance novel formula of a good girl who falls for the bad boy from the wrong side ...more

This is not an easy book to rate or review because I love Colleen Hoover & I'm a massive fan of Slammed and Point of Retreat but I'll try my best.

I liked it but I didn't love it. It just felt like there was something missing...I didn't connect with the characters emotionally as much as I thought I would, like I usually do with books like Hopeless.
Ok, so it took me a lot longer to get into this book than it did Slammed and Point of Retreat but I eventually warmed to it and then it lost me again b ...more

I am at a loss for words to adequately describe this poignant beautiful book. It is a hard book to read at times but worth the pain that your heart will feel at times as you enter the journey of this story. I was warned to get my box of tissues handy ( thanks for the advice Shannon!) and thankfully I took the advice to heart because they came in handy more than once.
Don't let the heavy subject matter steer you away from this book. Thank you Christine for the recommendation! ...more
