This author has some major cojones; like huge, massive ones. Ms. Walden has some serious writing skills to tell a story such as this. This book is difficult to digest. This books touches a very sensitive subject and as heartbreaking it was to see, this didn't grip me as much as I thought it would. I dare say it had a lot to do with the actual heroine Brooke, who was like a thorn in my side. I found her to be self-centred and conceited and it if wasn't for the supporting characters in this book, I would have given up.

If you like a lot of angst and drama this will probably be your cup of tea. ...more

This one will shock the conscience. The storyline is raw, controversial, and chilling. It’s certainly not an easy-to-read YA/NA romance novel. There are times when reality dims and you’re wise to remember once again that this is fiction. In turn, it’s also well-written and honest enough that I fell into the dark hole without much resistance.

I have to admit this is a very serious topic. I don't claim to have any knowledge on how to deal write or judge it so ill keep the technical aspects of story for someone else.
However, as a reader this authors powerful and dark tale about regretful mistakes, the power of self punishment and the need for redemption took me by the collar and shook me hard. This book is a really mature book with tough subject matters. But it was written excellently and I couldn't be happier with the way it ends. Some parts I had to skip because it was hard to deal with but I totally understand why it was included.
