I really enjoyed this book, and that is saying something! I was never a big history buff in school. If history was taught like this, I'd be all for it!! I absolutely loved that the story was told from Nefertiti's sister Mutny's point of view, it definitely made the story so much better. I enjoyed Mutny's character, her personality, her wisdom, and her love for her family. ...more

I really enjoyed this book and, believe it or not, the characters. I know a lot of people probably didn't like Nefertiti, but I thought she was brilliant. In a time when society looked down on women, she ruled, literally. I liked the glimpses into that era and the way they thought about things. Good book for young adult and up. This was a very interesting historical fiction regarding Nefertiti. I thought the author did an amazing job. It starts off a little slow with a little too much character setup however takes a turn and become a hard book to put down.

An interesting yet factually inaccurate portrayal.
