After watching the Rizzoli & Isles TV series, I picked this one up out of curiosity and am really glad I did. Gerritsen is an excellent writer and kept me enthralled throughout the novel. The Rizzoli character is quite different from the TV series character, but there are certain similarities. (Isles does not appear until the next novel.

I enjoyed this book. The author has the talent to set up suspense without resorting to artiface (ahem Kathy Reichs). A good mystery with a nice twist. I haven't ever seen the tv show, so no comparison can be made here.
