Dear Edward covered a greater message, one addressing how our lives rarely continue how we envision them and the extreme challenge and burden many of us have in adjusting to a great, unwelcome change that may implode into the planned, expected trajectory of our lives. Grief, regret, anger, and many other intense emotions often cloud our abilities to adjust and, furthermore, to appreciate the blessings around us - beautiful re

Edward is the sole survivor of commercial plane crash. He loses his parents and brother and goes to live with his aunt and uncle who never had children.
This was our 𝐁𝗼𝗼𝐤 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐅𝗼𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝗼𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 February pick. I expected to endure this book and not much more. I am a fearful flier and was not overly excited to be reading about a plane crash. I was wrong. I loved every minute of this book.

I feel as though this may be another unpopular opinion, but I didn’t love Dear Edward. It was a fine read, and I’m glad I read it, but it didn’t grip me as much as I wanted/expected it to. It could be that my timing in reading it is just poor coming off of several other tragic/heartbreaking stories.

BOOK REVIEW
Do not wait as long as I did to read this haunting, hopeful story. Imagine this: a plane takes off from NJ bound for CA and crashes in CO—191 people die, a 12 year old is the sole survivor.
🕊For a story about a devastating plane crash, this book is full of life. Yes, it is heartbreaking. And difficult to consider a worst case scenario playing out where you have no control over the outcome and cannot protect your children. This is why I avoided ...more
