What Members Thought
I'm going to keep this short and sweet because this book just wasn't for me. I'll list a few things I liked and a few things I didn't.
Things I liked:
1. In audiobook format the characters have a Irish accent. 😍
2. The relationship between Connell and his mother is great. She knows when to support him and when to criticize.
3. This book shines a light on the different types of abuse that exists in relationships. •

For some reason having read the blurb of this book in anticipation of book club, I envisaged it being a quick, fun listen, but I ended up on an emotional roller coaster for 7 1/2 hours! I think I cried for the first hour and a half of it alone - Sally Rooney's depiction of Marianne at school was scarily reminiscent of my own time at school, so it seemed oddly personal. I held off on 5 stars because I felt it kind of ran out of steam at the end, but I will check out some of the author's other boo
