I decided to do a re-read, since this was one of those high school "musts." I wasn't any more impressed with it the second time around, except now I've read a few more books that are virtually the same story. Anna Karenina, The Awakening, The Great Gatsby, etc, all are primarily peopled with spoiled rich people who have nothing but time on their hands, thus becoming bored and committing adultery, all ending in tragic, overly dramatic deaths.
