Why oh why did I keep reading this book? I made it half way through before I decided I couldn't/shouldn't/wouldn't keep reading. The first time the F word was used I should have just closed the book but I didn't because I was enjoying the story. I'd seen the movie and was enjoying the greater details contained in the book. After the F word had been used several dozen times I sort of became immune to it. There was other objectionable content as well. Last night I realized I'd had all I could take

I really loved this book. As I just finished it, I can't write a proper review because I have to still wrap my head around it some more. I really enjoyed it. My only wish for this book is that the author would have cut out some boring & unnecessary details and gave more life to the personalities of the character.

For me this is a book that I never would have picked up on my own. I read it for the Blogger's Unite book club.
This is not the sort of book I am used to reading. The journal style left me confused more than once. And the time traveling back and forth had me more than once looking back to try to keep track of the story. But by the middle of the story I got used to it.

Perhaps a 100 pages too long but this has to be one of the most beautiful love stories I have comes across to date. Despite all the suffering, unfairness and heartbreak they will face, the two are completely in love and dedicated to each other. Their love is tested time and time again and although life is certainly cruel in their case they are determined to push through.

Henry has chrono-impairment, a rare genetic disorder that causes him to time travel both backwards and forwards. On one trip, he encounters young Clare and the two form a bond and eventually marry. Because of his disorder, their marriage and life are unique.

The Time Traveler's Wife is about marriage and what it means to be constantly waiting for someone. Henry is a time traveler and Claire is the woman who loves him. Henry cannot control when or where he travels. Claire sometimes will wait week for Henry to come back; yet she constantly yearning to be with him. The tale is told beautifully as we navigate between Henry and Clair's stories.
