I liked the audio version - the voice did the characters well.

Didn't think I would keep on with it, at first, but it did grab me soon enough that I was too far gone to look back.

The ending? I read on one of the group discussions that the 'why' of it ending that way was puzzling.

I just adore the way Rainbow Rowell writes! This story was very compelling and thoughful. I love her characters and how she writes them is one of the things that take her books from good to great! Eleanor and Park both came alive for me and I was sorry to say goodbye to them at the end of the novel. The story felt realistic to me and it resonated with me quite a bit. Rainbow Rowell obviously gets first love and is able to make it come alive in the pages of this novel in all its sweetness and awk ...more

An enjoyable boy meets girl story. A boy and a a girl that aren't part of the norm for their high school. The boy has been accepted by hi peer group since he doesn't stand out - except for being 1/2 Korean in a mid-western town. In comes the girl who had been away from her family for a year since her mom's boyfriend had kicked her out. She dressed different, looked different, and stood out with her red hair.
