Wow, wow, wow! What a great read! This one is hard to classify; it has elements of YA, dystopian, and sci-fi with a mythological bent to it. This book reminds me of the work of Rick Riordan, Suzanne Collins, Joe Abercrombie and a host of others who have come before. You can read the book blurb for a general synopsis, but I will just say that the character development, world building, action, pacing and dialogue are all superb. I really enjoyed this book! Found there were a lot of parallels to Hunger Games and other similar books but this was a pretty refreshing take & I enjoyed it. Definitely recommend! Looking forward to reading the second in the trilogy!
