as introduction to a series goes... its pretty perfect.
it leaves you wanting more. more of the characters, more of the adventure, more of the mystery.
don't get me wrong it isn't a cliffhanger book (i hate those). but it introduces you to the characters perfectly. it sets up a possible romance. you want to find out more about the ever mysterious quinn. you want to know what else can happen to Riley. i can't give too much away. but i will warn you it has violence and sex themes that some people m

As an Australian myself I found it quite refreshing to read a paranormal/urban fantasy set in Melbourne.

Riley Jensen is half werewolf/half vampire, but her werewolf side is more dominant. Her twin brother Rhoan is also a rare hybrid, more vampire than werewolf. I love that Keri Arthur is an Australian writer and that this series is set in Australia - a rare find in this genre. (Oy Oy Oy!)
I read #2 Kissing Sin first, so it was good to get the background on these characters. I like the mix of were's, vamps, psi ability with lab created nightmares thrown in.
There is fast-paced action that doesn't overwhelm the ability to get to know the character's and the relationships. The plot is interesting, and leaves plenty of room to develop over the series.

I enjoyed this book from Keri Arthur, particularly because it is set in my home town so I had a giggle at some of the landmarks being mentioned. There is a little too much focus on the mating in the lead up to the full moon in my opinion. It does detract from the plot a little but it wasn't overly gratuitous just for the sake of it either. I'll keep reading this series to see how it all turns out. ...more

I'm only interested in this 'cause a reviewer in the Age mentioned "the notion of vampires in a futuristic Footscray". FOOTSCRAY GLORIFIED? This is an absolute must-see. Then again Footscray is creepy and grungy enough for vampire habitation, hrrmm. ...more

Not the best book I've read, I'm not one to shy away for a bit of bumping and grinding, but I was actually wishing they would hurry up and get back to the story and then 2 pages later well what do u know more bumping and grinding. Not a fav author, won't be reading anymore from this series. ...more
