Such a sweet read. The story of August who has Treacher Collins syndrome (along with another chromosomal error) and his first year of middle school. Middle school is tough even if you don't have severe facial deformities and Palacio does a masterful job of telling August's story as well as those of his sister and a circle of friends. A quick read that will give you some hope in the world.

I actually stayed up till 2 to read this book in one sitting. The genre and middle school themes were not my usual type, but I think I'm going to go buy it, so I can see it on my shelf and remember it, and try to get my kids to read it, and lend it to people-- it was that good.
