My daughter has been recommending this book, so I obligingly checked it out of the library and was surprised to find it’s a YA novel. My daughter is thirty and I’m, well, older than thirty, so we are not the book’s intended audience, but I liked The Hunger Games trilogy, also YA, and I trust my daughter, so I plunged in.

I can't do it -- I really did try. I made it three hours (and six traffic jams) into the audiobook before I threw in the towel.
Man, I had really high hopes for this one! This seemed like something I would really like. I loved that it was set in Prague, which is my favorite city that I've ever visited. And Lani Taylor writes beautifully.
But nothing ever happened. I kept waiting for the plot to start, but it just didn't. It was a lot of description, a lot of backstory, but no forward momentum. I ...more

DNF at about 26%.
Over descriptive, info dump, world underdevelopped, no idea what kind of universe she created... Perhaps it gets better further along the way but this book is simply not for me. I have 0 interest in knowing more. Too many books, too little time, moving on.
