Bradbury challenges the human mind with this chronological collection of science fiction vignettes. Set on Mars, each story delves further and further into the dystopic future.
The Martian Chronicles is packed with action and gore, yet is not lacking in the political commentary and valid warnings for the future that are characteristic of science fiction.

The book Martian chronicles by Ray Bradbury was one of the best science fiction books I have ever read, it had me not wanting to set it down. On this journey Bradbury takes you threw several missions of space landings on Mars. In each mission almost everyone had a different out come and a very ironic twist, keeping the reader guessing. This book is amazing. It's about a Martian woman and her Martian husband who live on Mars and fear the outside universe. However, the wife starts dreaming about a man named Nathaniel York, an outsider who comes to their planet to explore. Her husband starts to get irritated because he is tired of hearing the same dream over and over. The wife later realizes that her dream did come true but it wasn't the man she dreamed about. The Martian Chronicles is a very intriguing easy read following the numerous expenditions and ultimately the colonization of Mars. It is filled with short stories, one after another, that each tell a very unique tale that can always stand alone. These short stories do, however, follow in sequence and relate to eachother. Each story will immerse you in a new horror, hope, or hallucination. Ray Bradbury has an incredible ability to provide characters and situations that keep you turning the page.. ...more
