Meg - A Bookish Affair

I had misgivings about this book at first because I had heard soooo much about the book before I read it. If you keep in mind that the book is geared for teenagers and don't judge it as you would fiction for adults, it's a great book that really sucks you in. Some of the book moved a little slowly but it really picked up towards the last 2/3 and I couldn't put it down.

I will be reading the rest of the series.

A really quick read with a very sympathetic heroine and someone who is clutzier than me. I stayed up late to finish it and read the sequel in 2 days to. Hopefully, Eclipse will arrive tomorrow.

For the most part, this was the most boring vampire I had a really hard time getting into this book. I know its the first of a series, so there has to be some character introduction and everything, but it took so long for the two main characters to even begin to interact.

I listened to this on audio (which I downloaded from my library's website), and while the total running time is almost 13 hours, nothing really happened for almost 8 of those hours. We all know that Edward is a vampire, so why d

This was my choice for spring/summer 'junk' reading and i think it's better than the average summer reading. It is definitely a page turner who people who loved those vampire YA novels from our tweens in the nineties. I've read the first two, and I'm waiting for the next one (which will hopefully come before my beach vacation ;) It helped me get out of my reading rut and now I've been plowing through books like there is no tomorrow.

The romance and suspense is fun and exhilarating and they are go

You know how your in the dentist chair or stuck in the waiting room and the TV is tuned to Fox news? The only way to hold on to your sanity is to reassure yourself that it will all be over soon? Exactly like reading this book.

Very fast read, despite a slow-to-get-moving plot. The premise is interesting and so are the characters. This was a good introduction to the Twilight universe. I have to admit a huge part of the appeal of the books to me is the fact that they're set in Forks, Washington, where I've been several times for backpacking trips. Amazingly, the author hadn't been to Forks until after she wrote the book -- she does an excellent job of describing the Olympic Peninsula environs. ...more
