One of the best books, YA or otherwise, that I've read in quite some time -- maybe ever. A book about first love and loss that is hilarious, extremely intelligent, never condescends, and manages to be alternately heart-wrenching and heart-touching without resorting to trite sentimentality. I flew through this one in several hours and cried no less than six separate times (although, that is maybe not the best indicator of quality... I cried a couple of times during Free Willy as well).
