As the tide washed in, the Dutch Tulip Man faced the ocean: “Conjoiner rejoinder poisoner concealer revelator. Look at it, rising up and rising down, taking everything with it.”

“What’s that?” Anna asked.
“Water,” the Dutchman said, “Well, and time.” - Peter Van Houten, An Imperial Affliction

This book was so John Green-y. I think I have to stop reading his books because they're all the same to me now. A John Green novel on my night stand has about the same shelf life as. a pint of Ben & Jerrys in my freezer; I can't stop until either is devoured. Greens latest effort does not disappoint. Well drawn characters that are real and funny, a great storyline that you care about until the last juicy word and an ending that's hopeful and real. Another gem! ...more

John Green somehow managed to write a book about kids with cancer that is brutally honest and not the least bit pandering or indulgent. He also left me with some thoughts about life and death that I think will stay with me for quite some time. I highly recommend this book.
