What Members Thought
Fame & Fiction reads today like a time capsule into what was hot in the 1890s. The most fascinating chapter for me was the one on J.M Barrie. This was published a few years before Barrie had published his first Peter Pan stuff so Bennett talking about Barrie's pre-Peter Pan output was interesting. Bennett discussing early feminist Sarah Grand was also extremely interesting as Bennett could see how powerful her novels were to the time. I enjoyed this read so I gave it four stars
