i really really liked this book.
the premise isn't something i would normally read, but i'm glad i did. the main character, gemma doyle, is really awesome. she is witty, and strong, but she also has tremendous flaws.
kartik. i love him, he's so mysterious. he is isn't in the majority of the scenes, and when he is, they are very short, but i really can't wait to see what happens with him and his relationship with gemma in the next book of the trilogy.

Again, with the Magic, I read this whole book yesterday, it was so riveting, I just could not put it down. I liked it, a lot of the information it gave and you just keep wanting to read it.
However, I did not like the ending as well, a little was resolved, but not the whole thing, and even though I understand it is a series of 3 books, it would make more sense to have more resolution in this book (at the end) or to make it just one complete book, and not 3 separate ones.

i actually really enjoyed this read. i was hooked from the first page. knowing it was a period book with a supernatural element made me excited. it was a little dark and "nightmarish" but i'm ready to go on to the next.
