I always wanted to read this book because of all the hype surrounding it. For whatever reason I never picked the book up on my own, and I'm glad that I didn't. I had to read this in my Children's Lit class...and doing it that way exposed me to discussion and paper writing about it - and I feel that gave me a deeper understanding of both Holden and the book. Even so, the reasons for my not liking it are pretty simple...
