3.5.
I liked the premise of this book, but it was just trying to represent so many things at once and some of them ended up being very surface level - pivoting from reading Alice Oseman's content, the representation in this book was left rather unexplored and felt token at moments.
This rating is perhaps somewhat inflated because throughout the whole book, I just felt like I related so hard to Jamie. I also love his relationship with his sister Sophie. ...more

4.5 stars. Honestly, one of the reasons I picked this book up was because of the election setting. As a foreigner living in the US, the election here is fascinating and complicated. The book makes me think of local elections in a whole new way and how much they matter. Not to mention how cute Jamie and Maya are together. Great book. I read it in one sitting. :)
