Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors. I haven't disliked anything he has written.

This was no different.
Every word in this very short book is intentional and serves the story. Every phrase is dipped in imagination, dripping with magic. I got exactly the feel I want and usually get while reading Gaiman, so I have no complaints.

Also, I listened to the audiobook, which is read by Gaiman himself, while reading the physical book and would highly recommend that method of experiencing this story.

I learned that movies and books can't be compared. I also learned that movies mostly make the plot more romantic and idyllic than the writer of the book wanted to.

Around the Year in 52 books challenge: Suggestion from the ArY 2018 polls - have a family member pick from your TBR. Marcia picked this one from my TBR.

At first this was just a 3 but it grew on me and one Tristan got into Faierie, I enjoyed it so I'm giving it a 4. I do like Neil Gaiman. It does seem more of an adult fantasy rather than a child fantasy.
