Where do I begin? I have to be honest. I didn't know much about A Court of Thorns and Roses going into it. I just knew that everyone seemed to be in love with these books. So I went in completely blind to what the story would be and with some pretty high expectations. This book totally lived up to it. More like a 3.5. I've only read Throne of Glass by this author so I'll be comparing them a bit. For the first 50% of ACOTAR I thought it wasn't as lively as Throne of Glass and I wondered if I wouldn't like it much. The Beauty And The Beast type scenario wasn't really my type, the world-building seemed lackluster and the world itself barren, and I was frustrated by Feyre's family and her devotion to them. That’s kind of an intimidating feeling - starting a much beloved and talked about book.
And somehow, I had managed to avoid many spoilers. Besides vague impressions of the world and characters, this was new for me.
