on reread: I swear that I missed so much when I read this book the first time. I think the fact that it is so action packed with an absolutely absurd amount of characters made it easy to skim over things when I was devouring it the first time, so I'm glad I reread this to fully understand things I hadn't noticed before.

I wish I could give this 6 stars! I loved this even more than the first in the series.

Akin to Red Rising, this book has twists I didn't expect. War, love lost, betrayal.

The detail is on one hand excruciating and on the other almost necessary. It made it a bit harder to slog through (and I would definitely say it took me far too long to get fully into this book and finish it), but still 4-5 star worthy.

I don't know how this trilogy is going to end but that's kind of the beauty of this series.
