As many of you know I don't read contemporary YA. I read the first book, Pushing the Limits and just loved that book. The world read very real to me and I was surprised that many people criticized it for not feeling real. As someone who has had friends in the system as well as working with kids in the system for a short time, I can tell you it did feel real to me. There was a lot of content in the first book of this series, but I finished it because I still really liked the characters and the plot. In Dare You To I just never really liked the heroine. I liked the hero okay, but I didn't love him. The plot wasn't that great to me either. I just disagreed with a lot of the stuff that happened. I did love the uncle. He was great. For me I just didn't connect and there was more content than Pushing the Limits (do we really need an f-word on every page?), so n ...more
