The Picture of Dorian Gray is a Classic. Oscar Wilde is in top form. But I hated it. I hated Lord Henry for his influence on that sweet boy, Dorian Gray.
As I said, Oscar Wilde is brilliant, so it wasn't his writing. Nor was the latent homosexuality that laced through the novel, nor the Narcissism also laced throughout the story line. How about the hedonism? Nope. For me my dislike of the novel rest solely on the character Lord Henry. ...more

I went into this book with some preconceived ideas of the storyline. Only from the league of extraordinary gentlemen but enough that I though I new what the story was going to be.
I think many people know the basic story line so I will not repeat it here. I really enjoyed the basic plot of the story and it did provide surprises - don't expect a film were Dorain Grey plays a mall part to reflect what will happen in a book.

Worth the read in the end
