I’ve been trying for over 20 years to read this book and finally did it. Harder and far more pleasurable than I expected, Ulysses is mind-blowingly complex while also being simple. James Joyce’s range is what makes him a genius. To inhabit Leopold Bloom’s mind for one day. To inhabit Molly Bloom and her human complexity was worth the price of admission. Life is short; and there are so many distractions. To be lucky enough to read this book in the short span of time I have been given is a gift.
