Fanny Price's mother had two sisters as beautiful as she, one married an affluent gentleman Sir Thomas Bertram, and everyone said this would enable her siblings, to do the same. Nevertheless little England hasn't enough rich men, to accommodate deserving ladies. Another married a respectable quiet clergyman, with little money. Mansfield Park is Austen's third,least popular,and my second favorite of her novels.It is the least popular because like most of her relatives,most readers do not understand the heroine Fanny Price.Fanny's high sense of morals,duty,honor and gentleness are uncommon in our society today.Today society doesn't have a moral code.I am very fond of Fanny and she is one of my favorite heroines.

Reread. and still love it.

It's a bit too long for my taste, but nevertheless, I love, love, love it! The complexities and all the events in Mansfield Park are all enlightening and entertaining to read. I adore Fanny and Susan. They are very likable sisters and I prefer them to Eleanor and Marianne of Sense and Sensibility (I like Eleanor, but not Marianne). I might not reread this book again for a long time after this, but I will definitely listen to the audio book more often than I'd care to ad
