Real rating: 4.5 stars. I really, really loved this read! It was both about nothing and everything. It was a well-written exploration of friendship across the years. I'd love to read another novel by this author. ...more

This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. It’s about friendship and how we actively destroy that by being blind to others whole selves and keeping ourselves private. And it’s also about growth and how we can grow and evolve. I loved the nuance of the characters even though I didn’t really fully like any of them. They were written well and flawed.
