I could hardly wait to read this since I loved this author’s last novel In Five Years. This was another winner. Katie’s mother was her best friend and when she dies, Katie is lost. She decides to take the trip to Italy that they had planned to take together and finds her mother there, years before when she was just thirty. 3.5 stars - The scenery and food are enough to make me recommend this book!! Her writing truly transported me to the Hotel Poseidon in Positano and I really hope to visit there one day in real life.
The storyline was fun, but I found the main character to be pretty unlikeable. It was hard to imagine someone being that dependent on their mother.
This was a nice, quick read and if you want to feel like you've traveled without leaving your couch, this is the book for you! ...more
