I always find it difficult to rate the classics. It feels like they should get a bonus star for their long term successes and popularity. If I were rating this on the quality of writing it would be a five.

This is my first journey into the 'horror' genre. Definitely outside my personal norm. I wasn't sure if I would like it because I hate horror movies. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually enjoyed reading it. It was a unique combination for me to have the creepiness of the story, in the Victorian language that I find so beautiful.
