This is one of those audiobooks I wanted not to end, because I loved listening to it so much. The characters became real and important to me, and I liked the readers' voices. The characters had rich backstories. It was beautiful and intriguing to see how their lives were interwoven and dependent on one another.

I enjoyed this one for the most part. There were moments I sort of tuned out, but overall, a pretty good story.
Pretty powerful book. This was a very interesting piece of historical fiction. I was completely unaware of this story. This novel depicts yet more evidence of white privilege and white elitism. I am well aware of white privilege as it extends to people of color but this story was about white privilege as it impacted lower socioeconomic white people.
