WOW!!! What an awesome writer Celeste Ng is. I am right away going to get her first book she wrote because I love the way she writes. She is descriptive but not so overly descriptive that it's annoying and ridiculous. She wove such a great story and you got to know each and every character so well.

Slow at parts but a beautifully told story.

All of the characters were so real and so deeply dimensional. Their situations felt like they could happen to anyone.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the way the story line wasn’t very linear, it felt a little disjointed to me, but all in all I loved it.

Such good writing. I don't have daughters, but I am one, and also simply as a parent could relate to many of the emotions in this book. I liked this better than Everything I Never Told You, but both display her excellent writing and ability to get inside the lives of families. ...more
