What Members Thought
Compelling and atmospheric. I agree with some of the other critiques of the themes of female sacrifice running through the whole novel -- for a novel that speaks so much against how females are only good for their sacrifice and having children, there's a lot of that happening even for the strong feminist archetypes. While I realize this may be to speak to the spectrum that can exist within womanhood... I still felt the ending was a disappointment from that angle.

I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book at first but I ended up really enjoying it. Had to get into the rhythm of the writing first.
