This book really probably deserves 5 stars. My own personal bias against length have me rating it at 4. If you’re reading this, you can see it took me a very long time to finish (which isn’t all the fault of the book—2020’s been a weird year).
All that to say, the prose in this book is lovely and there is a LOT of it. I think selling it as a book about conversion therapy actually undersells it. It’s a complete coming of age story about a young lesbian woman and also touches on grief, friendship, ...more
