What Members Thought
I didn’t enjoy reading this book, but overall I appreciated the cultural immersion and creativity of the writing style, which I felt captured the voice of the young narrator quite well. My 3-star rating is an average of those two contradictory reactions (2 stars for my level of enjoyment, 4 stars for the writing craft).
I would have liked to have read more about Darling’s experiences in America, which are limited to a few chapters at the end of the book. Perhaps there will be a sequel?
