The story of several generations of a family. The earlier years are told in small snippets jumping on several years between scenes but then it becomes more of a continuous story and then I found it easier going.
A study of human nature and what we do to make relationsips work.

I've just begunt his fascinating book .... Lauren picked it out for me & so far - I'm really enjoying it. Just finished this interesting debut novel. It was a great contrast to the last book that I read (Still Alice) & I was able to do some armchair traveling (one of my favorite sports) to England & Bangladesh. Throw in an Irish charmer & what more can you ask for. The author did throw in a bit of a surprise, but reading about famiy's struggles with honesty are usually good for a novel. This boo ...more
