What Members Thought

Nadine in NY Jones
This was tedious and I’m just not in the mood for a “sinewy, meditative novel of boyhood,” as read in audiobook with plummy brit accent. Maybe I’m missing out on a great book, I’ll probably never know.

Like a much better Adrian Mole, for older readers - a mix of realism, fantasy, and head-games. David Mitchell can do no wrong...

not my favorite David Mitchell, but a great coming-of-age story that sticks with you

3,5 stars!

A bit slow but very melancholy. Some dark humor here and there. This book feels very personal to David Mitchell and you can't help but notice it.

I love the Black Swan Green setting, cute chapters, and 80s vibes.
