What Members Thought
Set in Turkey and England, a gripping multi-generational saga about an "honor killing," told in series of flashbacks by different members of the Kurdish-Turkish family. A timely and important topic, but, unfortunately, some plot twists and turns made the story feel a bit contrived and the ending unsatisfactory. Still, I was intrigued by many of the characters, and how their motives and actions were so much more complex than what I first anticipated. 3.5 stars.

First Elif Shafak book--really enjoyed it overall. This has been a read-aloud book, or what I call a Cook audiobook. We've taken too long to read it, but it was quite a read. Some sad, tough happenings & family life, but engaging & interesting throughout.
