I finished the first Persepolis and dove write into the second - devoured it in a day (a bit easier with a graphic novel). There had been more humor in the first, but the depth of analysis and understanding made up for that loss, and speaks to the difference between childhood stories and young adult stories, in the context of repression, freedom, and grief. I loved these books deeply.
This book gives a good, basic summary of the recent history of Iran and a engaging perspective on life during the Islamic Revolution. The book has very likable characters, which makes all of that easy to understand. It was one of those books that I got really absorbed in, and when I put it down, I kept thinking of the characters, and wondered how they were doing.

I lasted 30 pages. I have low patience for bratty teenagers, much less those who see microagressions everywhere yet judge everyone at the same time.
