This is an excellent book that everyone should read. Its narrated by a Native American character who is put in foster care in Minnesota before the Indian Child Welfare Act and the book follows her through her life and choices. It is about a little know event in history called the Conflict of 1862 which resulted in the largest mass hanging in the U.S. This book is so important as it shows us many issues we have with the land, seeds, farming, Native American rights.
