Folklore retellings are quickly becoming some of my favorite books to read. In addition to being magical and entertaining, I think there is a lot to learn about the cultures from which they come.
The world-building in this book, which is based in Persian and middle eastern folklore, is insanely detailed. The sheer amount of information about the different tribes, magical beings, politics, and factions is a bit overwhelming.
