I am allowing myself to abandon this book that I started on July 17, 2018. I made it to page 93, where this line of dialogue from the Chinese mother re: the incident of someone suing McDonald's for the burning hot coffee made me stop: "Coffee is hot. It's always hot. And this shyster got a million dollars." "Shyster"?? (😂<--me, imagining my mom saying this) I didn't feel much distinction between character voices because the parents talk like the children, and the tone throughout is very "bratty"
